Japanese Earthquake Effects On Steel Exports?

New Delhi - It is likely that finished steel exports to Japan will rise in the coming months as the Asian nation begins rebuilding after the devastating 0.9 earthquake - this report by two senior steel company executives in India.

The damage as estimated by economists is said to top 10 trillion yen which would knock three percentage points off Japans gross domestic product this year.

A reduction in exported steel from Japan is expected as a result of the quake, until the Asian nation reaches a point of stability once more. The death toll is reported to top 10000 people and counting so far.
